Student Personal Electronic Devices

Personal Electronic Devices in the Classroom

Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Personal Electronic Devices are prohibited in classrooms during instructional time. Unless they are explicitly allowed by a staff member, all personal electronic devices are to remain out of sight and unheard during classroom instructional time. Personal phones must be placed in backpacks, lockers or a classroom storage unit or risk an electronic device referral.

It is the Monroe-Gregg School District's goal to use technology in an effective way by limiting Personal Electronic Devices from becoming a distraction, used as a tool for academic dishonesty or disrupting the learning environment. Students will still be allowed to have their personal electronic devices during lunch and passing periods. It is a requirement for both students and parents to read the updated policy for Personal Electronic Devices and sign the "Classroom Contract" for all personal Electronic Devices & Accessories.
